Our Courses

The Bournemouth Montessori Centre welcomes applicants of all ages from 16 years upwards. There are a high percentage of mature students who come to BMC from other professions to retrain. The diversity of both age and background of the students enriches the learning environment.

The Bournemouth Montessori Centre offers a unique opportunity to study in small groups in friendly surroundings. Our individual approach equips students with the skills to be confident, competent and professional on graduation.

Students studying at Bournemouth Montessori CentreEach prospective student will be required to attend an interview. All applicants will need a good level of spoken and written English, and have a deep love of children. At the interview the Academic Director will be able to answer any questions and will advise on the course content and the choices to be made. Places are allocated on a 'first-come-first-served' basis; therefore application forms should be filled in and returned promptly.

Student learning the Montessori MethodStudents will study Montessori philosophy and theory to include written assignments describing Montessori materials and how they are used; essays, written observations and teaching practice. We have national and international links with Montessori schools willing to offer students teaching practice which the Centre will organise on the student's behalf.

BMC provides a welcome pack with information that will support the student when arriving in England including finding accommodation. All staff are happy to give advice and access further information for the student where necessary. Please contact us or email if you require any advice on entry to the UK.

Bournemouth Montessori Centre was first inspected by the British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher education in June 2009.

BAC's inspectors reported on an overall excellent level of provision in the Montessori College. They considered in particular that student welfare was a major strength of the College, that management of quality was comprehensively strong, and that students make very good progress.

BMC was awarded accreditation in August 2009.
