Nursery
The Bournemouth Montessori Centre houses a Montessori Nursery School (0-5 years). The nursery is accredited by Montessori Education UK; is Ofsted registered and also has Bournemouth Quality Standards accreditation.
Our nursery provides the highest standard of sessional/day care and education from birth to 5 years, all year round, 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.
We have two large bright and airy units; one from birth to 2 years (approx) and one from 2 – 5 years (approx). The nursery school has qualified staff with many years of experience.
Our aims for the children are:
- To create a happy, safe and stimulating child-based environment
- To acknowledge that each child wants to learn and must be allowed to develop naturally at his/her own pace
- To treat each child with respect and as a unique individual
- To acknowledge that the early years, from birth to six, are educationally the most important and that each child needs every opportunity to strengthen positive attitudes towards himself and others
- To ensure that the child grows to be a confident and competent learner for life
- To introduce the child to the Montessori materials which, among other things, promote independence, concentration and social skills. These provide a concrete foundation for later learning
- To ensure that each child feels nurtured and an important member of the group
